Sophos increases prices for the third time in 8 months

Triggered by the chip crisis and higher delivery costs, there was already a price increase in December 2021. In April 2022, prices went up again. From July 2022, prices will rise once more 😞.

Sophos cites challenges in the global supply chain and a significant rise in component prices and shipping costs as the reasons. In my view, these arguments do not really apply to licenses, which are also becoming more expensive. Inflation is probably a taboo word, yet products without chips have also become considerably more expensive in recent months. So it is not just Sophos or the IT industry that is affected, but more or less everything.

On 1 July there will be another price increase for the following products:

• Sophos Firewall appliances and licenses in the XGS series (+17%)
• Sophos Firewall appliances and licenses in the SG series (UTM) (+27%)
• Sophos SD-RED appliances (+8.33%)
• Sophos Firewall accessories (+27.3%)

That is of course a tough pill to swallow and means, for example, that the XGS 2100 appliance has become a total of 32.24% more expensive since December 2021.

Renting hardware instead of buying

We have therefore launched a pilot project in which we offer firewall hardware including licenses for a monthly rental fee. The offer is not yet listed on our website. If you are interested, feel free to contact us via the contact form and we will prepare a quote.
