Switch between Sophos Central Endpoint Standard and Advanced

The installer comes for the Advanced version as standard. After installing, you can choose the version yourself in Sophos Central Admin. In this article we’ll explain how to switch between Sophos Central Endpoint Standard and Advanced.

Note: This procedure doesn’t seem to be working at this moment. We already opened a support ticket with Sophos. If you need to switch your licenses from Standard to Advanced or vice versa, please get in touch with us via the contact form. We can do so for you.

Info: You can not mix Standard and Advanced clients. You need to decide for one version which all users on your account will receive.

Requirements

  • Sophos Central Account
  • At least one computer with an active Sophos Endpoint Client

Downgrade Sophos Central Advanced to Standard

1. Login to Sophos Central account

Login to your Sophos Central Admin account here: https://central.sophos.com

2. Open licensing menu

Open the menu next to your Customer ID in the top right and select Licensing.

3. Change license type

You’ll now see a list of all active licenses. Click Change License Type next to the Endpoint Advanced Protection license.

4. Confirm switching to Endpoint Standard

You’ll now be asked if you are sure you want to switch. Click Switch to Standard Protection to confirm.

Upgrade Sopgos Central Standard to Advanced

If you want to use Advanced features on your endpoints again, you can easily switch back to Advanced. Simply repeat steps 1-3 from the tutorial above and click on Upgrade Protection next to the Endpoint Advanced Protection license.
