The Sophos Data Lake adds previously recorded events, even when the server is offline. History extends only as far as data was actually collected and retained within the licensed scope.

Isolation and Live Response are available when needed. Logged remote access supports administrative or forensic action directly on the server. However, isolation can also interrupt connections to applications, users and other systems. Responsibilities, permissions and response procedures should therefore be established in advance for critical workloads. EDR provides the technical capabilities; the responsible team weighs the consequences.

When EDR Server is the right choice

Sophos EDR Server suits organisations with their own IT or security operations that need more than automatic prevention. Sophos XDR Server extends visibility with further security data from the environment. An MDR service adds ongoing analysis and response by Sophos; an EDR licence alone does not provide this service.

The Server variant is licensed per server and differs from Sophos EDR User for employee devices. Selection depends on workloads, supported platforms and existing protection software. An agreed response plan ensures the tools can be used responsibly when an incident occurs.
