Description

Learn more about Sophos Security Services Standalone IR Retainer

Sophos Security Services Standalone IR Retainer prepares access to digital forensics and incident-response specialists before a security incident occurs. Companies agree readiness arrangements and engagement terms in advance. This simplifies collaboration when responsible teams must act quickly while clarifying scope, access and costs.

Establish the route to support in advance

During an incident, organisational questions can consume time and attention. A prepared retainer provides a defined route to the Sophos response team and an agreed hourly rate. Response agreements apply under the service terms and their prerequisites. Initial contact is distinct from the actual start of an investigation.

Match the engagement to the incident

When called upon, Sophos makes an initial assessment and agrees investigation scope and estimated hours. Work starts on the basis of required approval and agreed terms. The company must provide contacts, access and decisions. The retainer therefore includes preparation and access, rather than a blanket allocation of unlimited working hours.

Use it independently or as an addition

The Standalone IR Retainer itself contains no Service Units for proactive services. It can be selected independently or combined with Security Services Retainer Level 1. When both entitlements are active together, eligible units can be used for incident response under the terms. Levels 2 to 4 already provide corresponding readiness within their retainer scope.

It suits companies adding prepared external support to an emergency plan. It does not replace ongoing MDR monitoring. Agree reporting channels, responsibilities and technical prerequisites before signing; the applicable agreements determine response and billing for an engagement.
