It is therefore mandatory to uninstall the existing antivirus before installing the Sophos Central endpoint.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-voraussetzungen\">Requirements<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>macOS 10.9+<\/li><li>Sophos Central Account<\/li><li>Admin rights on the Mac<\/li><li>No other antivirus installed<\/li><li>Internet connection<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-sophos-endpoint-protection-installieren\">Install Sophos Endpoint Protection<\/h2>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Sophos Central - Sophos Central Endpoint installieren (macOS)\" width=\"1290\" height=\"726\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/R4mBs2h38FU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. log in to the Sophos Central account<\/h3>\n\n<p>Log in to <a href=\"https:\/\/central.sophos.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">\n  <code>https:\/\/central.sophos.com<\/code>\n<\/a> to log in to Sophos Central Admin.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. download installer<\/h3>\n\n<p>Click on the menu item <code>Protect Devices<\/code> in the <strong>sidebar<\/strong>. In the <strong>Endpoint Protection<\/strong> section, you will find the complete Endpoint Installer called <code>Download Complete macOS Installer<\/code>. Since you do not want to install the whole package, but only the Endpoint Protection, click on <code>Choose Components...<\/code>. If you want to install only Endpoint Protection, or only Intercept X, click <code>Choose Components...<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. run installer<\/h3>\n\n<p>Next, you can start the Sophos Central Endpoint setup. An Internet connection is required.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>: Make sure that no other antivirus is installed on the Mac before running the Sophos Endpoint Protection setup.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4. check installation<\/h3>\n\n<p>If the installation worked, the computer is now protected and it is listed in Sophos Central. To check this, you can click on the menu item <code>Endpoint Protection<\/code> in the <strong>sidebar<\/strong> and then select <code>Computer<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Important<\/strong>: You must never simply delete computers in Sophos Central until the software has been uninstalled on that particular Mac. The software is protected by Tamper Protection. To remove this protection, it is essential to link to Sophos Central.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. assign license to correct user<\/h3>\n\n<p>If there is already a user in Sophos Central for this Mac account where the endpoint was installed, you can now assign the license to this user.
