It’s time again to summarize a few innovations in the further development of our website for you. The first point concerns an important change in the purchasing process, which we had to adapt because of Sophos. The other innovations, in turn, are intended to make shopping from other countries with different currencies and tax rates easier. For those of you who have an account with us, the recently introduced “Inventory” gives you a better overview of items you have already purchased.<\/p>\n\n

Important change as of July 1, 2019<\/h2>\n\n
Our mission has always been to make buying Sophos products as easy as possible, to guarantee fast delivery and all this at an irresistible price. However, Sophos has now made some changes to the ordering process as of July 1, 2019, which will affect the delivery time for certain products. We’ll take a look at which products are affected in the next section.<\/p>\n\n
Categorization of products<\/h3>\n\n
Until now, it made no difference to Sophos whether we ordered an XG 115<\/strong> or an XG 310<\/strong> for a customer. However, Sophos now differentiates between products that fall into the small segment and those that are intended more for larger environments.<\/p>\n\n
I have listed here which products in our store for Sophos fall into the small or large segment:<\/p>\n\n
Category 1: Small segment<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n
XG 86 to XG 135<\/li>
SG 105 to SG 135<\/li>
SFOS Software: 1 CPU 2GB RAM & 2 CPU 4GB RAM<\/li>
UTM software: 10 – 50 users<\/li>

If you order products from us that fall into the first category (small segment), everything remains the same for you.<\/p>\n\n
Project notification<\/h3>\n\n
The changes to the new ordering process are based on a new project notification model<\/strong>. If we receive future orders that include products from the second category, Sophos would like us to report them as a project<\/strong> first.<\/p>\n\n
For our business model, which is very much based on automation and speed, such a step is of course absolute nonsense! But Sophos apparently didn’t think about the fact that there are also partners who want to get Sophos products to their customers as efficiently as possible. \ud83e\udd14<\/p>\n\n
An intermediate step through a manual project notification at Sophos, will probably delay the delivery process by about 24 hours.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
Sophos still lets us choose whether or not to report a project, but that is only half the story. Because only, who reports an order of the second category, also gets a better price for it!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
Project notification bonus<\/h3>\n\n
So now we could theoretically continue exactly as before without having to report a project. However, this would mean that we would forgo the project sign-up bonus, which would guarantee our customers a better price.<\/p>\n\n
So in the end we had the choice whether these adjustments for our online business should have a negative impact on the delivery time<\/strong> or the price<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
Since we have always believed that the price is decisive, in the future we will register orders from the second category as a project.<\/p>\n\n
Price guarantee with conditions!<\/h3>\n\n
So with the new pricing of all the products from the second category, we assumed that we would be placing the orders with Sophos. Only this way we get the project registration bonus and can offer our customers an attractive price.<\/p>\n\n
However, Sophos will only award the bonus for a project notification if the project has not yet been notified by any other partner<\/strong>!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
So, if you place an order with us after July 1, 2019 that includes a product from the second category, we can only guarantee the price for it if no other partner has reported the project for you before us.<\/p>\n\n
Of course, this rule applies to all Sophos partners. So, in the future, if you knock on several partners’ doors for a quote, 100% of the time only one of them will be able to give you the best price, namely the lucky one who first reported the project to Sophos. I don’t have to mention here that you will get the best price only at a Platinum Partner…<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n
If we do not receive the bonus after an order, we will automatically contact you. If you order from us without talking to another partner beforehand, you can always assume that we will receive the bonus for you. \ud83d\ude0e<\/p>\n\n
Effects on the delivery time<\/h3>\n\n
Due to the manual project notification at Sophos, we expect a delay in the ordering process of approximately 24 hours. We also received this value directly from Sophos in response to our query. After a few weeks of hands-on experience, we will be able to better assess how much time is actually lost by reporting projects to Sophos.<\/p>\n\n
Unfortunately, this does not prevent products from the second category from not being delivered on the next working day. However, we do not see such a great need here in terms of urgency. We are just already very relieved that all Access Points and REDs have landed in the first category and can thus continue to be shipped quickly.<\/p>\n\n

Changeover to gross prices<\/h2>\n\n
As we now sell Sophos hardware in Germany, we have to comply with the German Price Indication Regulation (PAngV). This states that as soon as you contribute to B2C trade, you must always indicate the actual total price to be paid. Since we sell products to both businesses and individuals, we were required by law to make this adjustment. The big bold prices on our product pages are therefore immediately inclusive of VAT.<\/p>\n\n\n<\/a><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n
