Free upgrade – Sophos SW/Virtual 1CPU 4GB RAM

In April, the new XG 86 and XG 106 models were introduced and at the same time the XG 85 and XG 105 were discontinued in the middle of the year. Meanwhile, it is known that Sophos has done this because the future SFOS v18 firmware will require at least 4 GB of RAM.

1CPU 2GB RAM to 1CPU 4GB RAM upgrade

So far we have only talked about the hardware, but it was almost a bit forgotten that yes, there is still a variant for 1CPU and 2GB RAM for the virtual/software licenses as well. Sophos plans to automatically upgrade all existing 1CPU 2GB RAM to 1Core 4GB RAM. So if you have such a license, you will benefit from a free update. 👏

The automatic upgrade is expected to be completed by the end of July 2019 and will not disrupt operations for customers currently using the 1C2 license.
