Sophos increases prices for the third time in 8 months
Triggered by the chip crisis and higher delivery costs, there was a price increase in December 2021. There was then another price increase in April 2022. From July 2022, prices will now rise once again 😞.
Sophos cites challenges in the global supply chain and a significant increase in component prices and shipping costs as the reason here. In my view, these arguments do not apply to licenses, which are also becoming more expensive. Inflation is probably a taboo word, because even products without chips have become a lot more expensive in recent months. So it’s not just Sophos or the IT industry here, but more or less everything.
On July 1, there will be another price increase for the following products:
- Sophos Firewall appliances and XGS series licenses (+17%)
- Sophos Firewall appliances and SG series licenses (UTM) ( +27%)
- Sophos SD-RED Appliances (+8.33%)
- Sophos Firewall Accessories (+27.3%)
This is obviously very bitter and means that, for example, the XGS 2100 appliance has become 32.24% more expensive overall since December 2021.
Rent hardware instead of buying
We have therefore launched a pilot project in which we have installed the firewall hardware incl. Offer license at a monthly rental price. Currently, the offer is not yet available on the website. However, if you are interested, please contact us via the contact form and we will prepare an offer.
The deal is expected to be transparent and favorable according to Avanet standards. Therefore, here is a calculation example with an XGS 2100 appliance.
