Avanet shop - Various optimizations and new products
It has already been almost two months since we launched our new shop at avanet.com. Since then, we have implemented a number of optimizations and added new content. I’d like to briefly summarize the most important changes here.
Navigation rearranged
In addition to numerous under-the-hood optimizations aimed at making the experience in our shop even faster, we quickly realized that the new navigation was not working for our customers. The new structure was apparently too complicated and confusing. In the meantime, we have reverted to the previous layout, which once again ensures that our customers can easily find their way around.
Central products restructured
If you haven’t noticed yet, the Central Endpoint and Server products were recently renamed. You can find all the relevant information in the following two blog posts:

- Sophos Central Server Protection: Intercept X für Server
Because of these name changes, we also had to revise the product pages and remove the Standard and Advanced versions.
FAQs expanded
On our support page, we have renamed the “general help topics” to “FAQs”, added a new “Buyer’s Guide” category, and included many new questions and answers. The Buyer’s Guide covers topics relevant before purchasing a Sophos product and is intended to support our customers.
New APX series added
Sophos has brought new access points to market, which we, of course, added to our shop as quickly as possible.
With the exception of the APX 740, we can ship the new access points immediately. The APX 740 is expected at the end of September 2018.
New product images
While we do receive image material for most products from Sophos, we don’t always get actual product photos. Our aim is to provide you with images that are as realistic as possible. That’s why we’ve now started to photograph the products ourselves as soon as we get them.
We have provided additional image material for the following products:
- AP 55
- APX 530
- SG 125
- XG 310
- XG 430
- SG 125(w)/135(w) rev. 3 Rackmount kit
New unboxing videos
As with the product photos, we also want to offer an enhanced experience with moving images. We have created new unboxing videos for the following products. For the APX videos, it’s also the first time we’ve experimented with a voice track. We would be very happy to receive your feedback, whether positive or negative – as long as it’s constructive so that we can do even better in the future.
