Sophos Hardware Graveyard Grows with SFOS v20 MR1
It feels like there have never been as many hardware End-of-Life dates as in the past and coming months.
- Sophos RED 15(w) and RED 50 have been End of Life since August 31, 2023
- Sophos Access Points in the AP Series went End of Life at the end of 2023
- Sophos Firewalls in the XG Series will become hardware scrap at the end of March 2025
- Sophos Access Points in the APX Series are due at the end of 2027

RED 15 and RED 50 are deactivated with SFOS v20 MR1
The End-of-Life date for Sophos RED 15(w) and RED 50 was August 31, 2023. Until now, the REDs continued to work. After installing SFOS v20 MR1, however, the REDs no longer connect.
With this new version, support for the End-of-Life (EOL) devices RED 15, RED 15w, and RED 50 is discontinued.
Anyone still using these legacy devices must switch to the new SD-RED 20 or SD-RED 60 models before upgrading to v20 MR1.
